Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 August 2026
1. What you are agreeing to
yangbyte (“we”, “us”) is an independent software project operated as a sole individual venture, reachable at support@yangbyte.com. We build and sell small macOS utilities. These terms cover all software you buy, download, or use through yangbyte.com. Product-specific details are in section 7 and will be extended when we ship new products. By buying, downloading, or using our software, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use our software.
2. License
Once you have paid, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
- install and use the software you purchased on one Mac you own or control;
- keep copies of the software for backup purposes.
Each activation is permanently bound to the device it was activated on and cannot be moved to another device. Reinstalling the system or restoring from a backup on that same device does not use up another activation; to use the software on a second device, please purchase an additional license. If a repair changes your device's identifier, write to us and we will sort it out.
You may not:
- resell, rent, lend, or distribute the software or your license key, or publish the key;
- decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, except where the law expressly permits it;
- circumvent, remove, or interfere with license verification;
- use the software for any unlawful purpose.
The software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved.
3. One-time payment and updates
Our software is sold as a one-time purchase: you pay once, keep it forever, and receive every future update at no extra cost, including future major versions. There is no subscription, nothing auto-renews, and there are no in-app purchases.
4. Purchase and payment
Every order is processed by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ) as our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Your sale contract is with Creem, receipts are issued by Creem, and applicable sales tax or VAT is collected and remitted by Creem. Every order is also subject to the Creem Buyer Terms.
The price shown on the page is the price in effect at that time. We may change prices at any time; changes do not affect orders already completed.
5. Delivery and activation
After a successful payment, your license key and a one-click activation link are sent automatically to the email address you entered at checkout, usually within a few minutes.
- The key is paired with that address; activation needs both.
- If nothing arrives after 10 minutes, check your spam folder first. If it still has not arrived after 30 minutes, write to support@yangbyte.com and we will resend it.
- Keep that email. On the same Mac it is all you need to activate again after a clean install or a restore from backup, and doing so does not use up another activation; moving to a different Mac counts as a new activation.
6. Refunds
Refund requests may be submitted within 14 days of purchase by writing to support@yangbyte.com. If something is wrong, you are also welcome to contact us first — we will help you sort it out.
- Creem issues refunds under its Buyer Terms to the original payment method.
- Once refunded, the corresponding license key is revoked.
- Statutory withdrawal rights for consumers in the EU are unaffected by this section.
7. Product-specific terms
The following applies only to the named product. System requirements, permissions, and platform limits differ by product — please check before buying.
7.1 Gridly
Gridly requires macOS 14.0 or later, a Mac with Intel or Apple Silicon, a trackpad or a Magic Mouse, and macOS Accessibility permission. Please make sure your setup meets these requirements before buying.
Granting Accessibility permission means Gridly is able to move your windows. Please be sure you understand that before granting it.
macOS does not allow certain windows to be moved or resized at all — some system windows, apps already in full screen, and windows that are not resizable. That is a platform limitation, not a defect in the software.
8. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping the email that contains your license key, and for reading section 7 so you understand the permissions and limits of the product you bought.
9. Intellectual property
Our software and everything in it — code, icons, interface, documentation, names, and marks — belong to us and are protected by copyright and related laws. Buying a license transfers no intellectual property.
10. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every application you run.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total aggregate liability is capped at the amount you actually paid for the software.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of liability, so these limits may not apply to you.
12. Termination
We may terminate your license if you materially breach these terms — for example by distributing your license key or circumventing license verification. On termination you must stop using the software and delete it. Sections 9 to 11 survive termination.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we notify you at your license email address. Changes do not apply retroactively to orders already completed.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (excluding the Hong Kong SAR, the Macau SAR, and Taiwan). Please raise any dispute with us directly first; if it cannot be settled that way, it may be brought before a competent people’s court of the People’s Republic of China.
If you are buying as a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection laws of your own country still apply and are not affected by this section. Anything concerning payment, receipts, or refunds is additionally governed by the Creem Buyer Terms.
